Beginning in Marjorca, Spain, Catholic action groups planned a pilgrimage to the shrine of St. James. As the pilgrims traveled the Spanish Country-side, they kept each other going by speaking the word "ULTREYA" which means "ONWARD!" or "KEEP GOING!". Once Cursillo groups formed, "ULTREYA" was the word used to encourage members to keep moving forward in spiritual renewal and with larger community gatherings. Ultreyas are gatherings of all group reunions leading people to live, share and give in the spirit enkindled during the weekend. |
